Re-Fresh is the story of a different approach to farmers and the food business.

Re-Fresh is an online place where we like to share and chat about the funny, sad, odd, inspiring and (most of the time) interesting world of the local food business.  We'd like to invite comments and discussions from Farmers, Chefs, Waiters, Old-Timers, Newbies, Moms, Dinner Party Enthusiasts, Truck Drivers, Wine Snobs, Beer Guzzlers and many other categories of folks that enjoy the combination of food and story.

To Let you know a little bit about why we started the site. We need to tell you a little bit about who we are. The Re-Fresh Team operates several projects designed to accomplish these goals:

1.) The Root Cellar--we own and operate the Root Cellar Grocery, a fresh-format grocery store located in Downtown Columbia, Missouri. The Root Cellar is located at 1023 East Walnut in the newly renovated North Village Arts District a few blocks north of the University of Missouri campus.

2.) Missouri Bounty Box--each week, we collect available local food products and sell them to subscribers in an attempt to provide the freshest, healthiest local food available in our region. Currently, the Bounty Box Program is picked up at the Root Cellar in Columbia, MO.

3.) Wholesale Operations--as we collect food for the Bounty Box and Root Cellar from the region's farmers, we also attempt to procure food for restaurants and other interested wholesale customers. We provide high-quality, seasonally available wholesale food products to make the most efficient use of our shipping and distribution infrastructure.

As you can tell, we're up and running and in the mix of the local food world in Missouri. By dealing with farmers and chefs and food entrepreneurs, we are dealing with some of the most colorful and creative characters around. So sit back, relax and try to soak in some of our local food ambiance. We'll tell you the real stories behind the food we buy, and we'll let you in on some of the dirty little secrets we learn along the way. Thanks for stopping by.
